Trip Report Tuesday - WDW Day 11 Part 2 // Our Final Evening at Magic Kingdom During their 50th Anniversary

Happy Trip Report Tuesday!  Today I'm looking forward to sharing the final evening we spent at Magic Kingdom during their 50th Anniversary celebration.  It was a lovely conclusion to our time in that magical park this trip.  My sweet family allowed me ample time to get snap happy taking pretty pics of Cinderella Castle all decked out in her 50th finest and glowing in her night lights.  Seeing those pics makes my heart smile and I hope it does the same for you, friends! Welcome in to another pixie dusted post.  Let's get right to the good stuff!

Day 11 - Wednesday, October 19, 2022

Around 7pm we walked the sunset lit path to the the boat dock for a float to Magic Kingdom.

The lines were lengthy on this evening and we were glad to skip right past them, using our Lightning Lane passes to walk right on to Haunted Mansion.

Iconic wallpaper and cobwebs, ah, the ambience of the Mansion.

Next Lightning Lane lined up, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad!  This ride feels so much faster after dark, making it extra thrilling and giggle inducing.

Jason took our youngest to grab dinner at Columbia Harbor House while our oldest and I darted in the dark beneath firework lit skies to grab corndogs and house-made chips from Sleepy Hollow.

Reunited at Columbia Harbor house and ready to dig into our dinner!

Yo ho!  Yo ho!  A pirate's life for me!

We followed up our time with Jack Sparrow visiting Mickey, Donald, and the entire Disney gang that makes Mickey's Philharmagic one of my favorite spots in MK!

Hidden Mickey!

From the music and magic of Philharmagic to a "world of laughter, a world of tears...a world of hope and a world of fears, there's so much that we share that it's time we're aware, it's a small world after all."

Time to visit our friends at 100 acre wood.

Always keep your eyes peeled, looking up, down, and all around while at the Disney Parks!  So many were passing by these pavement pictures, but when we noticed this freshly mopped faces a cast member "painted" it added a little delight to our night!

Over to Tomorrowland for some Space Ranger fun.

Onto an attraction I adore, Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress.  This nostalgic ride has my heart!

Our final ride of this fun filled night was Under The Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid.

One of the main "must"s for me on this fine evening was taking the time to fully appreciate and enjoy Cinderella Castle in her 50th anniversary glory.

Before we made our way to the front of the castle, we paused for Jason to take a drink.  I quickly snapped a photo as part of our untraditional Disney tradition that began with a simple snapshot I took during our honeymoon here in November 1998.  A simple moment in time candidly captured led to a game of sorts that I've been enjoying for the past nearly two and a half decades.  Anyone interested in that story can read more about it in a post I wrote about a decade ago,  Not Your Typical Disney Photo Tradition.

Back to and through that beautiful castle!

Isn't she lovely?  Isn't she wonderful?

He's the most patient man on the planet, just chilling while I took a gazillion photos of this stunning castle. :D  This would be our final evening at Magic Kingdom this trip.  Knowing that it was the last time I'd see Cinderella Castle all decked out for the 50th I really wanted to capture it the best that I could in cellphone photo form.

Wide open spaces in Disney parks are one of my favorite things.

I adore the seasonal window displays.

There's nothing like an evening boat ride back to the resort to wrap up a day well spent.

Half past midnight it was time to close the curtains and say goodnight to another Disney day.

Thanks so much for being here today!  I look forward to sharing more with you this time next week.  Meanwhile, have yourself a sweet first week of spring!

  2. You captured the beauty of the castle dressed in it’ s 50’s finery. Love the details, the cast made mop drawings and of course the corndogs!! With our family’s love of all things Disney, your « last » is definitely not your last. It’s more of a See you later pal!
