Day 2 - Saturday, September 1, 2018
On this fine morning we would leave Illinois and make our way through Indiana, Ohio, and on into Kentucky to visit the Creation Museum. Since its opening we have dreamed of the day we would visit this museum as a family. This was a long awaited, much anticipated day!
"Little One" always get as cozy as can be wherever she may be!
We made it!
The Beautiful Botanical Gardens of The Creation Museum
The gardens of Creation Museum were truly breathtaking!
Museum Time!
This place is huge and packed full of fascinating exhibits!
Lunch at Palm Cafe
This lovely lunch spot inside the museum was such a sweet spot to stop for a bite to eat. We sat beside lit palm trees under cafe lights, and watched water cascade down a lovely water feature nearby while eating our personal size pizzas and grilled cheese sandwiches.
Stargazers Room Planetarium
We got afternoon tickets to see "Created Cosmos" in the Stargazer's Planetarium. It was absolutely awe-inspiring!
After the planetarium show we made our way to another dinosaur exhibit.
These silly girls are always ready for a fun photo op!
Cheers to a day well spent!
Catching a show in the museum's 4D Special Effects Theater
Dragon Hall Bookstore
This shop couldn't have been cuter! I picked up a book filled with beautiful photos capturing both the museum and gardens, a cd of incredible instrumental music that plays throughout the museum, and a magnet. I love taking home keepsakes that remind me of our travels and can be enjoyed for years to come!
Dinner at Noah's Cafe
We finished our day at Noah's Cafe. Here we chatted about our favorite exhibits between bites and then waited out a rainstorm before taking a second stroll through the gorgeous gardens.
The Creation Museum was one of the highlights of the trip for all of us. We'd been looking forward to visiting and it exceeded our expectations. We stayed from opening through dinner and enjoyed every bit of our time there. I truly hope to return one day.
Homewood Suites by Hilton
We loved this hotel near the Creation Museum. It was very nice and reasonably priced, a fantastic combo.
This isn't a view I've ever had from a hotel window before, but it's always fun when hotels offer unique amenities!
Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today! It was so much fun to share this marvelous museum with you! I invite you to stop by tomorrow when I'll be sharing our morning at the Ark Encounter and evening in Gatlinburg, Tennessee!
