Day 4 - Labor Day 2018 // Monday, September 3, 2018
Photos never do places like this justice. It was a simply stunning view!
This picture of my handsome husband in front of our Explorer floods my heart with thankfulness. If you've been around here for a bit you may remember a post I shared last year about an answered (secret) prayer way back in 2016 that led to us purchasing this vehicle. (If interested, you can read more about that here.) I'm so grateful for God's provision!
Meeting a Blogging Bestie, Whitney of Come Home for Comfort!
One of my favorite hours of this trip was spent sitting outside a coffee shop with a picturesque mountain view, side by side with one of my oldest and dearest blogging friends! Whitney of Come Home for Comfort and I met through a blogging link party, High Five for Friday (which she now co-hosts), over half a decade ago. On this beautiful day we had the great pleasure of meeting in person and introducing our families too.
Our time together was brief, yet thoroughly enjoyed! It definitely made for my favorite Labor Day to date!
Lunch on the road to Hilton Head Island...
We were so excited to stay at Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort! This was our first time staying at a Disney Resort that was not on park property at either Walt Disney World or Disneyland.
The lobby had the cutest door ever!
Our Deluxe Studio
I loved seeing my favorite Disney Vacation Club phrase, "Welcome Home" on the welcome mat just outside our studio.
The studio opens up to the kitchenette and then leads in to the bedroom and seating area.
"Princess" checking out the rocking chairs on our balcony.
My favorite part of our studio was the private balcony. Y'all know I love a good rocking chair and the view of palm trees beside trees dripping with Spanish moss made my heart skip a beat!
Time to take a stroll to explore this lovely resort...
I loved this sign as it reminded me of one of my favorite people, my Dad, "Bob".
Shadow is the resident golden retriever of Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort.
Thankfully we encountered none of the above.
Some free fun on the greens
The resort's restaurant was only open through lunch during this time of year, so we had dinner delivered from a local pizza place with good reviews. Giuseppi's pizza definitely hit the spot!
If you get the chance to check out my husband's vlog from this day (linked at the bottom of this post), you'll see that pizza was not all that we ordered. Jason found another favorite he couldn't resist. However I was apparently too busy digging into a slice of cheesy goodness to be bothered with taking a pic. Between my blog posts and his vlogs we manage to get everything captured though! ;)
After dinner "Little One" and I decided to go for another walk around the resort and get some shopping in too.
The sunset that night was spectacular!
She chose her first Disney souvenir of the trip, a plush Ortensia, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit's girlfriend. This was a fun find as she is a rarely seen character!
Once we arrived back to the room Jason asked us if we'd like to walk down to the docks and see the boats there. It was such a peaceful evening and the perfect conclusion to a day well spent!
Thanks so much for being here today! I hope you'll pop back by the blog tomorrow to see more Hilton Head Island fun, including checking out their beach along the ocean! Then it's onto Walt Disney World!
