Day 17 - Sunday, December 9, 2017
This was our final morning at WDW. Pass the tissues, please. I used a bit of the morning to take as many pictures as I could to capture the details of this place we so enjoyed calling home for the final week of our trip.
Here's a last look at our one bedroom villa in Disney Vacation Club's newest addition, the Copper Creek Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, and the rest of this picturesque resort.
I thought it was such a fun touch that they had this coffee table book there for guests' enjoyment.
This couch makes out into a sofa bed.
It was a cold and rainy morning. If ever you have to leave, this is the type of weather that makes heading home a bit more bearable.
Tucked in the corner of its lobby there's a gem that goes unnoticed by many. In fact, I didn't even spot this until the last morning of our trip! While it may not be as grand some of the other Christmas displays I've shared, the intricate detailing of this display is every bit as impressive!
Bear Country Display Ingredients:
60 lbs White Chocolate
15 lbs Molding Chocolate
5 lbs Cocoa Butter
A touch of pixie dust!
I would've rocked a bit of the morning away here but it was too wet out to make that enjoyable. It's almost as if Disney World was crying at the thought of our trip ending too. ;)
It was time for one final meal in our villa. Being that it was December, we listed to Christmas music a lot during our time there. I'll never forget that on this particular morning as Jason prepared our breakfast sandwiches Elvis' "Blue Christmas" came on. My husband sang with blues in his voice that morning, mourning the end of our vacation. I'll never hear that song again without remembering that moment.
A final elevator selfie. You may be able to tell my smile is a little forced on this morning as we rolled our luggage down to the lobby and were officially homeward bound.
Told you that I'd be sure to take advantage of this bear-y cute photo op! ;)
A Mears "Tragical Express" made it's way to us. It wasn't even a Disney bus, friends. Sorry to sound sad, but it still hurts a little. ;)
Disney got us to the airport so early that we had to wait a few hours before our flight would even show up on the screen, so we passed the time with grabbing lunch and lounging next to a live band playing near a brightly lit Christmas tree. I tried to keep the Disney magic alive by using a cute koozie on my McDs cup. It's the little things!
That's a wrap, friends! It was an incredibly memorable Disney vacation with the three people I love most in the world! We enjoyed many firsts - our first Disney Vacation Club special event, our first time visiting DVC member lounge, my first trip to spend time in all four parks solo, and the girls' first trip going off on their own for a bit of sister time here and there! Our Disney dream of becoming Annual Passholders came true! We were chosen as the family to represent Disney Vacation Club during the special fireworks at DVC Moonlight Magic! We stayed at new resorts. We had 'Ohana delivered to our room and I ate that fantastic feast in my pajamas! We experienced Pandora for the first time! We soaked up all the Christmas magic we could, and now the time had come to go home and celebrate the season with our families! It was a bittersweet day, but looking back at this trip filled with the laughs and the memories I'll forever cherish has brought this mama behind the keyboard to happy tears!
Thank you, sweet readers and cherished friends, for joining me here on this Trip Report Tuesday and each one you may have made it to prior! I absolutely love capturing these memories for my family in blog form, and sharing them with you is like the sweet cherry on top!
