Day 13 {Part 1} - Thursday, September 22, 2016
Peter Pan's Flight
We entered Disneyland at the start of their extra magic hour and made a beeline for Peter Pan (as its line quickly grows)!
Classic.
Haunted Mansion Holiday
We couldn't resist another ride on Haunted Mansion Holiday!
I have this thing for themed popcorn carts. Here's a snapshot of the Oogie Boogie one outside of Haunted Mansion Holiday.
The Halloween Tree
I loved spotting cool things that are unique to Disneyland Park throughout our time there, like this Halloween Tree! I know nothing about the author or book which this is themed after, but I thought this tree was a true treat to behold!
Disneyland's Monorail
Disneyland's monorail is more like an attraction than an actual mode of transportation as it only travels from Downtown Disney District to Disneyland and back. It's worth the ride though! I wish I'd taken more photos as their monorail is quite a bit different than ours at WDW, inside and out. You can still ride in the front at Disneyland, so we asked a Cast Member if we could wait to sit up front with the Monorail Conductor. It made for a special ride with a gorgeous view of the Park!
Alice in Wonderland Themed Restrooms
Cheshire Cat is one of my favorites and seeing him grinning at us each time we passed this restroom made me smile! Also, you've gotta love a fun photo op with the White Rabbit!
Disney PhotoPass Fun!
We're big fans of Disney PhotoPass! It's such a great way to capture your entire group in family vacation photos without having to ask strangers if they'd mind taking your picture throughout the trip or having all the pics missing one family member as they play photographer. This particular day we came across a super sweet PhotoPass photographer who wasn't busy and offered us extra magic by taking us to different spots to have several photos taken! I don't think this is typical, nor would I expect it to happen again. Moments like these when a Cast Member goes out of their way to offer an extra dash of Disney magic to your day is what makes Disney vacations so memorable! Here are just a few of the 20 photos she took!
The tees Jason and I wore that day were some of my favorites of the trip! They featured a Star Wars quote between Han and Leia, "I love you" and "I know".
Splash Mountain
I love this photo as it captures my family's personalities so well!
Storybook Land Canal Boats
This is one of those attractions that I'd seen in photos for as far back as I can remember! We simply had to enter that whale and see all those beloved Disney tales in miniature form!
Mickey's Toon Town
As you can see Little One was beginning to get a little hangry while visiting Toon Town ... just kidding! Ha! While squeezing a funny photo op like this in right before lunch, I couldn't resist a silly caption! ;)
Lunch at Cafe Orleans
We were seated at an outdoor table with a nice shady umbrella and could hardly wait to dig into the lovely lunch that awaited us!
Pomme Frites // Traditional fries tossed with parmesan, garlic, and parley, served with cajun spice rémoulade
New Orleans Gumbo
Monte Cristo Sandwich - Princess & I each ordered this. As delicious as this was, we could've totally shared one entree. If you visit with someone else who's also eyeing this on the menu, I'd recommend that!
Chicken, broccoli, and fruit - these are a few of her favorite things!
Indiana Jones Adventure
Friends, I LOVED this ride and we rode it as often as we could during our trip! Both the ride layout and vehicles are the same as Animal Kingdom's Dinosaur ride, but with a completely different theme! In my opinion this ride is a MUST when visiting Disneyland!
Thanks so much for coming by today! Hope you'll join me next week for some shopping, more fried cheese of a different variety, and a Grand Californian exclusive view of DCA's nighttime spectacular! Much more magic to come, friends!
Sometimes snapshots just don't do things justice! Be sure to check out the video footage from this day and more on my family's YouTube channel,
In case you missed the earlier California trip reports and you're interested, here are some direct links for ya!:
I appreciate each comment, & "like"! They let me know that you enjoyed what you read, which makes it worth sharing! ;)
OMG your food photos from Cafe Orleans look sooo good! I love that little spot. Peter Pan is one of my favorites, and the holiday Haunted Mansion is so fun!

ReplyDeleteI love the Halloween tree! Maybe I could do a mini version in my yard this year!
ReplyDeleteMore fried cheese you say? OK, I'll be back!
I should have warned you about the Monte Cristo - they are easily shareable & I usually only get them if I'm with someone who will share with me. lol They're so yummy. And those pommes frites! NOM NOM NOM
ReplyDeleteI love when Oogie Boogie makes an appearance in the fall/winter at the popcorn cart. That'a really great shot of him that you got - it's always so hard to get a good one with that darn glass!
I'm so glad you enjoyed Indy! It's my #1 favorite ride and one of my favorite movies!
I don't know anything about Halloween trees, but I want one! How festive =) And, your posts always end up making me hungry!
