One // Little One got her 1st sewing machine!
Yes, she casually wears top hat headbands on an ordinary Wednesday. She's one of a kind! :)
First of all my husband is AWESOME! He surprised our Little One with her first sewing machine this week "just because" ... just because she is extraordinarily crafty and hand stitches her own toys all the time. He thought she could really use a sewing machine, so he got her one. This guy melts my heart! She was SO surprised and giddy! Her JOY made my week!
Two // Her 1st Creation with her own Sewing Machine!
How cute is this polar bear pillow my girly made?!
Little One didn't have much material so she decided to go through her dresser drawers in search of something she was outgrowing. This sweet polar bear adorned a pajama top that was getting too small. I think it makes the most adorable new pillow!
Random side note: You may you notice colored streaks in her hair. She used hair chalk to dress herself up like her favorite Moana character, Heihei (the rooster), for our family movie night! I love that she has a heart for themey fun like her mama!
Three // This book is so darling!
I've been wanting this adorable book for what seems like forever! I originally spotted it in a museum gift shop, have swooned over it on the Shop Disney Parks app, gave a copy to one of my favorite Disney loving relatives for Christmas, but hadn't brought myself to pay full price for it. (Not that it is regularly that pricey. You know me, I just wait for sales before purchasing things for myself. ;)) This week I came across one! I saw it marked down on Walmart.com for just $4.99! Plus, (at that time) Walmart was offering a promo code for an additional 15% off, so I scored this beautiful book for less than $4 and a quarter! (It has since nearly doubled in price. I know because I went back with the thought I'd buy more for gifts.)
It could not be any cuter! It features art work from several Disney Little Golden Books over the years. I was tickled pink to come across the pages shown above from the Cinderella Little Golden Book, copyright 1950. I found a copy of that Golden Book years ago on vacation when the girls were really small. I took it apart using its pages to create custom artwork for their then shared Disney Princess themed bedroom. Needless to say, it holds a special place in my heart! Disney, you get me every time!
Four // Family Movie Night
You guys, the music in that movie is amazing and the scenes are stunning! I'm pretty sure I'll be singing and daydreaming about a tropical paradise for days. Meanwhile, Aloha weekend!
Five // Date Night!
My parents invited the girls to spend the night tonight, giving them some fun time together and giving Jason and I a DATE NIGHT! We haven't decided yet what we're going to do. We'll likely end the evening with a rented movie. I'd love to hear any movie suggestions you have for us in the comments section below!
Thank you so much for stopping by! Don't forget to say, "Hi!"
Earlier this week at Chatting Over Chocolate ...

Oh Brenda, so much goodness in this post! I remember when I got my first sewing machine and I made a purse. Your baby girlies pillow is so cute! So I'm totally making your mint brownies from this week and now I really want to see Moana. Yay for family movie nights and date nights with your man! I hope it is a spectacular and sweet weekend for you beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMy niece got a sewing machine for her 10th birthday and she has loved it for the last 2 years!! I swear they are so talented - way more than I was at their age LOL! xo, Biana
ReplyDeleteWe still have to see Moana. My daughter got a sewing machine years ago and hasn't really gotten too into it. Right now she's back to obsessively using her rainbow loom! Glad we kept it! Love that your husband picked it up for her "just because" and the polar bear pillow is so cute! Great deal on the Golden book! Have a fun date night and a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh, goodness! Little One will be crafting up ALL sorts of goodies now! What a thoughtful gift! I can't wait to enjoy a Moana viewing this weekend! Especially now after hearing YOU enjoyed it! Enjoy that date night, sweetest friend!
ReplyDeleteI have not watched Moana yet, but we usually get a movie and order pizza- so that sounds perfect!!! My daughter has one of those 'fake' sewing machines... but, she loves my real sewing machine. What she made is so cute and better than I could probably do! Ha!

I still need to see Moana!! Especially after being in Hawaii, it's been at the top of my list :) What a wonderful gift for your little lady - I love the pillow she made.
ReplyDeleteMeg, Borrowed Heaven
We all loved Moana too! What a fun movie night. That is so sweet that your hubby got your daughter a sewing machine. And how creative to make a little pillow from her pajamas. Thanks for the tip on the golden book...it will make a great gift, even at the higher price!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet that little sewing machine. It definitely seems like she has quite the natural talent. She'll be making all kinds of beautiful creations in not time. I had no clue Moana was out. We need a family movie night asap.
ReplyDeleteWow, Little One is so crafty!
ReplyDeleteThought I already commented on this, but I don't see that I did! Love, love, love that Jas got Little One a sewing machine! She and I can be sewing twins now! Need me to teach her how to make Ears? :)
