I recently subscribed to Walmart's Beauty Box and am excited to share thoughts on my first box with you today! Unlike Target's Beauty Box, which is a one time purchase, Walmart offers a seasonal subscription. It's marketed as a free box, you pay only for shipping and handling, which is a flat $5 fee.
Let's get to the deets of what I found inside this first box...

My Thoughts
The Full Size Products:
Does that lipstick look familiar to anyone? That's right, I received the exact same lipstick and shade in my Target Beauty Box earlier this summer! I have to admit I was a little bummed that it wasn't a different shade as it's always fun to try something new. Had I not received it already I would have been thrilled about it though, so no complaints are valid there!
Immediately when I opened the box I picked up a strong cocoa butter type of scent from the lotion. I personally love that as it reminds me of summertime. When my husband arrived home I asked him what he thought when he opened the box and he said, "Coconut. Eww!" (He and I differ on our view of coconut by the way. ;)) Either way, I loved the scent. However, when I applied it I had two different thoughts. Wow, this stuff really does help my dry skin! Shortly followed by, Wowza! This perfumed fragrance is a bit much! I'd read several reviews of people unhappy with the way this lotion smells. It is a tad overwhelming at first. I think I will likely use it though, as I believe it's claim of moisturizing to heal and soothe rough, cracked skin to be true. We'll see. ;)
As for the samples, I look forward to giving them a try. I do love the opportunity to try different things without going out and purchasing a full size product. Hopefully one of them will be a new-to-me gem!
The Subscription:
Overall I was pleased with this box. The lotion or lipstick alone would have cost me more than the $5 I paid. Please note that the items included in each box vary. For example, being 36 I received the Burt's Bees product that's said to reduce the look of lines and wrinkles. If you're reading this review and 22, I'm guessing you'll receive something a bit more fun and youthful! ;)
Will I keep this subscription or unsubscribe?
Being that it's $5 just four times a year I think I will keep this subscription, at least for the time being. While I didn't enjoy it as much as I do the Target Beauty Boxes, I do feel like it was still a value. We'll see what the fall box has in store! Let me know if you're interested in seeing an open box and review when it arrives in a few months.

Have a fabulous afternoon, friends!
Join me in the adventures to come!
I have seen that Burt's Bees eye cream and I am curious about it. Even thought you just received a sample of it, I would love to hear what you think about it. :-) I used to use Loreal shampoo and I switched to Sauve. Their latest line of products in the gold bottles is fantastic and its cheaper than the Loreal. Anyways, fun hearing about this beauty box and I hope that you are having a great week! :-)
ReplyDeleteI always feel out of the loop with these things. Where do you even see the Target one! I was thinking of trying to snag whatever one comes out towards the fall.
ReplyDeleteI think you are addicted to these fun boxes. lol I'mma gonna pop over and take a look now. ;)
