1. Four Day Weekend
some sweet snippets of our long holiday weekend:
evening walks // Kenefick Park // picnic at the lake // late night family Sonic Drive-In date
2. Independence Day 2015
I had a coupon for a FREE appetizer, so you know we redeemed that for a big ol' plate of cheese fries! YUM!! I ordered a 1/2 Ribeye Melt and Jason got the 2 steak tacos lunch combo. When taking our order the server accidentally put in for dinner versions of what we requested. So, in addition to our free app, we were also given the full melt sandwich and an extra taco at no extra cost since it was her mistake. I LOVE a bargain ...and yummy leftovers!!
I have to admit it felt a little funny having lunch at a place called "Outback" on this, the most American of holidays. I justified it by reminding myself that Outback Steakhouse was founded by someone born in Florida. Besides stars and stripes welcomed us at the door, and there's nothing more American than eating way too much food, right? ;)
When the sun began to set we got out our firework goodies to light up the night. We laughed, "ooh"ed and "ahh"ed, and created some sweet new memories as a family!
3. Our New Rides
Fun calorie burning family time? Yes, please!
Jason and I got new bikes this week and we have been pedaling our hearts out! I think I said (and heard), "This is so much FUN!" about 47 times while on our first 5 mile family bike ride. It seriously made me feel like a kid again! If you haven't hopped on a bike for a while, I highly recommend going for a lit'l joyride A.S.A.P.!
4. MORE Eat, Sleep, Dis, Repeat videos in the works!
To those who have tuned into my family's YouTube channel, Eat, Sleep, Dis, Repeat, over the past few years, thank you and I have some BIG NEWS for you!!! Jason has been working on some NEW videos this week! If you haven't yet, be sure to subscribe so you won't miss all the fun that's to come!
5. Today is National Teddy Bear Picnic Day!
A fun occasion for the young & young-at-heart!
What could be sweeter than a picnic with your favorite people? Inviting a cuddly teddy bear to tag along! Wanna celebrate with your kiddos too? Here's a lit'l inspiration to spark some creativity as you prepare to pack that picnic basket...
I'm looking forward to this good excuse to snack on chocolate chip Teddy Grahams and sour Gummi Bears today! Mmm!
One Last Thing...
For anyone who was away over Independence Day weekend and may have missed last week's Five Loves post, I'm now on Instagram! I'd love to have you follow along there too! It has quickly become my favorite form of social media. I hope to connect with you there!!
Thanks for visiting, sweet friends! Enjoy today!

Family time is glorious isn't it?! Oh outback...goodness those cheesefries look AMAZING! YUM. xx.
ReplyDeleteOooooh! I have been craving some yummy cheesy fries for quite some time now, and that pic is PERFECT! <3 Those bikes?! AWESOME! The kids got new bikes for either Christmas or birthday and Trav and I have yet to get new ones---those are SUPER cute and I LOVE the colors! Congrats on the new rides! ;) Also---I can NOT wait for new vids!!!! I'll be keeping my eyes open to more ESDR awesomeness! HAPPY Friday!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you to have bikes now! We love riding bikes and it's a great family activity!
ReplyDeleteOh, I have been saying I've wanted bikes for so long! What a great thing to do as a family. I have everything at home to make that bear toast for my kiddos as a snack, I'll have to remember to do that tonight after dinner!
ReplyDeleteI remember riding bikes in NY all the time when the girls were little. Now where we live in Charlotte, one riskes their lives riding on these roads. Such great exercise and family time spent. Everytime I see anything Disney, I think of you. It's so funny how you get to know people and the smallest things bring them to memory. The teddy bear theme, adorable, going to have to steal some of those ideas for my classroom this coming year. Have a great Friday.
ReplyDeleteI love outback!! Especially their house salad! YUM!! Can't wait to check out the new Disney videos!!
ReplyDeleteI love that you actually thought about the name of the restaurant you chose for July 4th! I'm SO like that too. I have to wear red, white and blue and spend at least part of my day doing "American" things. :) Glad you had a good weekend with your family! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteYou cracked me up with the line about eating at Outback and that you worried it wasn't American. Hilarious! I just loved all your fun family activities. Especially the bikes! This is something my husband and I have wanted to do too. Oh! And didn't know you had a family youtube channel! Subscribed. :) Have a wonderful weekend!

Yaayy so excited that you're now on IG :) I hope you have a great weekend!! I have a 12 year old staying with me this week, so I think we might need to have a belated Teddy Bear Picnic Day tomorrow :)
ReplyDeleteI like Outback Steakhouse too. They have really good steaks. I need to go more than I do. I used to ride my bike in our neighborhood but it is built up now and too much traffic. I can wait for the new videos. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteFollowing you over on Instagram now! And I was also recently on the bike for the first time in a while. My sister in law convinced me to ride with her on the 4th and I was petrified like the entire time. The first part of our ride was down all these steep hills and curves and I felt totally out of control! I might have to take a few more rides before I could get used to it again. :)
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo! Can't wait for more Eat, Sleep, Dis, Repeat videos!!
ReplyDeleteA Teddy Bear Picnic Day?! How neat. I love your all's new bikes. What a fun way to get some exercise and spend time together as a family. I was cracking up at your Outback train of thought.lol I hope you have a wonderful week this week!!!!

Teddy Bear picnic day? That's a thing! haha I love it. I think today is french fry day, or at least I saw it on my fb feed. Sounds like a day I can get behind. I also saw pecan pie die was the other day, which shucks missed that one. Although I'm not sure I could eat that in the summer since it is so heavy, but thanksgiving is always a yummy pecan pie event.
ReplyDeleteHow pretty are those new bikes!! I haven't gotten on one in years. I think I have the can't bike gene though. At least if there are hills involved. I hate going up and I hate going down. Good thing florida is so flat.
i didn't know Outback was from FL, neat. I think we've got the first Hooters too. I remember giggling over that as a kid when we went to the west coast of FL.
Sounds like you had a fantastic week. Outback looked amazing! I love their bread. I'm glad you had a 4 day weekend with your hubby. I love those bikes. I told my husband that we need to get bikes and ride together.
