Welcome, friends! Today I'm delighted to share the details of our final day in the Disney Parks, a day filled with Disney magic, epic adventure, and tears, both happy and sad...
Day 16 - Friday, October 4, 2013
It was a gorgeous morning at Riverside as we waited for our final bus to Hollywood Studios.
Hooray for Hollywood!
Breakfast at Fairfax Fare
Our go-to breakfast at Hollywood Studios
Hey, Howdy, Hey! Welcome to Toy Story Midway Mania!
You've Got a Friend in Me ...unless you beat me! Just kidding! ;)
Terrifically TERRORfied!
"love in a elevator roller coaster"
We unlocked this door with the key of imagination, beyond it was another dimension. A dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. We moved into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. We crossed over into The Twilight Zone.
Jedi Training Academy
This force is strong with this one!
Little One defending herself against the Dark Side
Her certificate announces:
"Little One has proven to be worthy of training to become a Jedi, the guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy. The bearer of this honor is now a Padawan, a student devoted to the ancient training of the Jedi Knights. From this day forth, remember, a Jedi uses the force for knowledge and defense, never for attack. The force will be with you, always."
What is the best way to celebrate becoming a Padawan? Building your own custom lightsaber!
Side note: This is still happening at home. In fact, last weekend Jason actually "accidentally" cut flowers off a hanging floral ball in our dining room! We had a Darth Vader telephone as newlyweds at age 20. Yet, I never would've guessed that 15 years later the words, "Did you actually just cut my flowers down with a lightsaber?!", would come out of my mouth! What an interesting life I lead! ;)
Our last afternoon at Magic Kingdom
These are the moments memories are made of!
A late lunch at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe
Mosey into this Frontierland Quick Service restaurant if you've got a hankering for a burger, pardner!
In attempt to make our vacation last a bit longer we boarded this "three month" cruise. Boy, did it fly by though! ;) Here are the highlights of that trip within our trip...
"Well, we've laughed and we've cried. We've almost died! I love you like family. Now get out! I'm sorry, that was rude. Please get out."
"...a Magic Kingdom where the young at heart of all ages can laugh and play and learn together"
- Roy O. Disney, October 25, 1971
The future that never was is finally here.
Cooling off at Casey Jr. Splash 'N' Soak Station
Those elephants really know how to refresh passersby!
Tangled Restroom Area
When we had these new restrooms to ourselves, I couldn't resist snapping pics to share!
Under the Sea - Journey of The Little Mermaid
One last voyage on the newest ride in Magic Kingdom.
I was attempting to give Little One "Mickey ears"
A scrumptious finale to our time at Magic Kingdom
Jason trying his best to put on a happy face, even though this trip was slipping through our fingers!
This is the part where our hearts break...
I may still shed tears each time I see these photos. Saying goodbye to WDW is never easy!
This isn't a photo I'd frame, but it captures the feeling of the last bus ride back from Magic Kingdom well.
Our Last Evening at Port Orleans Riverside
Our final dinner of this trip at Riverside Mill
We so enjoyed our stay at this fabulous resort! Our final evening there was a beautiful one!

Oh my gosh, I'm so sad for you just looking at these photos!!! Your husband looks DEPRESSED with that last Dole float! (I don't blame him one bit!) I loooove that your little one went to Jedi training - so cool. Seriously, if I ever can, I want to go to Disney when you did. It doesn't look crowded at all and you got to do SO MUCH everyday!!
ReplyDeleteTower of Terror and Rockin Roller Coaster are two of my faves! And space mountain too, of course!! xx
ReplyDeleteSuch a bummer to be leaving! You get there, you have soo many days of fun, and then all of a sudden it is the last day =( Any plans for returning? Or, still just a vague time in the future?
ReplyDeleteI've never had a dole whip myself what is your preferred method? float, just the whip, flavour?
Can I never say it enough I'm so jealous of all the fun times you guys have. Love it.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! Looks like a great trip! I love those dole pineapple whips!
ReplyDeleteaw! That looks like so much fun! I cant wait till my boys are older and we can go to Disney!
ReplyDeleteAs always, I love looking at your pictures from the trip. Also, that Tangled restroom once again shows the wonderful details that Disney puts in the parks. (I took pictures inside the restroom near the Alice In Wonderland ride at Disneyland - the doors look like playing cards and the tile is even shaped like hearts, etc).
ReplyDeleteAgain I love the pictures, especially the night pictures of P.O. Riverside and the funny ride pictures.
