{Modern} Mary Poppins Polyvore // Saving Mr. Banks {Spoiler-Free} Review

{Modern} Mary Poppins

{Modern} Mary Poppins by brendalynn1114

What has me taking to Polyvore to create Mary Poppins inspired loveliness?  ...

Jason and I went to see "Saving Mr. Banks" and I adored it!  It's the story of Walt Disney's efforts to woo and win over the author of "Mary Poppins", as he attempted to gain the rights to transform the storybook his daughter Diane longed to see her daddy make into a motion picture.  The movie transports you back to a different era and reveals not only the war of the wills and whims of author P. L. Travers and Disney's team, but also dives into the backstory of {"Mrs."} Travers' lifetime leading up to penning the story shaped by those dear to her trial-hardened heart.

This movie is so rich with Disney history.  If you crave backstories of Disney magic {the way I do}, you'll eat it up!  I laughed, cried, and savored every bit of this nostalgic film!

I recommend Kleenex even more than popcorn if you buy a ticket to this flick.  I'd also urge you to stay through the credits as the last little bit of the film is filled with oodles of vintage photos, and even the recorded audio of the negations the movie was based upon ...such a sweet cherry on top!

*This movie is rated PG-13 and is not suitable for a younger audience due to disturbing content and images from the author's youth.

Have you seen "Saving Mr. Banks"?  What did you think of it?  I personally give it two thumbs up and the coveted rating of practically perfect in every way!
