Trip Report Tuesday: WDW Day 4

Trip Report Tuesday time!

Day 4 - Sunday, September 22, 2013

Little One set sail on Port Orleans Riverside's Bayou Pirate Adventure bright and early!  She had the best time!  I'd highly recommend this to any children aged 4-12 years old who arrr in search of adventure!

She enjoyed two hours on the high seas (aka: the Sassagoula River) which included a treasure hunt, singing pirate songs, and eating lunch {swashbuckling really works up an appetite!}

Pirate Little One with her treasures

Jason, Princess, & I enjoyed a leisurely morning with a delicious breakfast at our resort's food court, the Riverside Mill.

When the time came to pick up Little One in the resort's lobby we were greeted with a pirate song from her and the pirate crew! It was too cute, and instantly apparent from the grin on her face that it was worth every penny!

Meanwhile, mousekeeping was cleaning our room and busy leaving us some new {towel} animal friends.

Wouldn't it be great if when you left your bedroom at home this happened?

Port Orleans offers boat transportation to Downtown Disney. We took advantage of this enjoying a nice cruise along the Sassagoula River as we made our way to Disney Quest!

Disney Quest bound!

Some of our Favorites:  Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride, Pirates of the Caribbean:  Battle for Buccaneer Gold, Virtual Jungle Cruise, and Fix It Felix Jr.

We finished our day at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge with dinner at Boma.

Our tastebuds enjoyed a delicious tour through Africa, while are eyes feasted on the African marketplace inspired surroundings.

Jason and I love Boma!  This was the girls' first time dining there and they really enjoyed it too. At the conclusion of our vacation Princess named this as one of her favorite meals of the entire trip.

After dinner we explored the stunning lodge and went animal watching.  It is such a unique and beautiful resort.  We look forward to staying here someday.

Where else do you see wildlife roaming free together in a resort setting (here in the States)?  It's really a sight to behold!

Hope you'll be back to hear about Day 5, next Tuesday!

Here's a sneak peek at what's to come next week...

  1. We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside years ago, when it was still named Dixie Landings. It was awesome, and the boat ride to Downtown Disney was great.
